Reflecting our core value of Service, the women in Destiny’s Journey Chapter annually support Operation ELF in the New England area by volunteering their time and resources.
Operation ELF is an all-volunteer gift-giving organization that brings hope, joy, and the spirit of the holidays to children who are wards of the state or in transitional living situations.
Operation Elf 2018 raised nearly $7500 through their events and website. All totaled, ELF touched nearly 1700 children!
- 1189 children’s specific gift wishes
- 230 children from Brattleboro Retreat in Brattleboro, VT
- 40 more children served by My Brother’s Keeper in Easton, MA
- 220 children in Nicaragua
The gifts from ELF support children of all ages through agencies and charities including: GRASP, Nashua Children’s Home, Project Hope, Children’s Services of Roxbury (CSR), Transition House, Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center, Boston’s Bridge To Excellence afterschool programs, Jewish Family Services – MetroWest, Justice Resource Institute, Community Legal Services and Counseling Center, Victory Programs, Codman Square Health Center, Dorchester House Multiservice Center, and Dimock Center. In addition, about another 600 children were supported separately through the Brattleboro Retreat Center, and through a special program that supports children in need in Nicaragua.
