Programs Overview
The Family of Women offers programs in cities across the United States and Canada.
Programs are a confidential and supportive place for women to come together, bond, and be themselves as they discover their purpose and power in their community and in the world.
Women in programs meet regularly during six-month cycles. Most of our programs meet weekly, although other alternatives are available in some locations from time to time. Programs meet face-to-face in many cities, and there are also phone/Zoom programs available for women who don’t live near a program location or otherwise cannot meet face-to-face. Each six-month cycle program has a theme which the program material supports.
One of the greatest gifts of participating in a program is the opportunity to create a personal goal during the six-month cycle and to have the support of the other program members in helping you achieve that goal. In each program there are questions, exercises, and other experiential activities delivered by the program leader that are designed to support you in achieving your cycle goal.
Each woman takes responsibility for her full participation in program. We lead, inspire, mentor, and hold each other accountable, while empowering each other to achieve our dreams. We take complete ownership of the success of our lives, thereby learning how to create a life we love!
The material covered in each program is created by women in the Family of Women. We are non-denominational and create our own material based on our mission statement, core values, and standards.

Specialized Programs
In addition to our regular weekly program meetings, Chapters may elect to offer special programs for their members. Such programs in the past have included:
- Married Women’s Program
- Getting Ready Program for single women who are contemplating marriage
- Community Outreach programs
- Leadership Training
For many of the special purpose programs, an application is required to ensure that the content of the program is a good fit for the women who wish to participate, and to ensure that there is sufficient leadership for the number of women who plan to take part. Special purpose programs are always announced in advance and will be listed in the Calendar of Events, including all relevant application deadlines.

A Woman’s Journey
There is power in knowing you always have a choice. This cycle we’ll travel together through our personal journeys, the different paths we’ve taken, and the stops we’ve made along the way. We’ll explore our experiences and successes and rekindle gratitude for those things which have made us who we are today.
We’ll empower each other to use the Family of Women tools to make new choices, leading to new opportunities to achieve our goals, ignite our passions, and make positive contributions in the world!
“A Woman’s Journey” programs are intended to provide the opportunity to learn from each other and to improve communication and collaboration among women and in our relationships with others.
A Woman’s Journey II
“What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?’ – Mary Oliver.
This quote is the inspiration for the journey we’ll take this cycle. When you hear one wild precious life, what comes up for you? What does it mean to you? Are you living a wild precious life now? If not, what stops you?
These are some of the questions we’ll be exploring this cycle in A Woman’s Journey 2: Your One Wild and Precious Life. Together we’ll get to the heart of how we each live our life. We have the power to make new choices and make changes. Let’s embrace every day, grow together, widen our horizons and play bigger in the world. So fasten your seat belts – we’re in for quite a ride.
Communication: What’s your message?
Motivational speaker Brian Tracy says, “Communication is a skill that you can learn. It’s like riding a bicycle or typing. If you’re willing to work at it, you can rapidly improve the quality of every part of your life.” Are you ready to improve the quality of your life by improving your communication?
This cycle we will explore communication from a number of different perspectives. We’ll share how we already communicate effectively and learn how to enhance our ability to send and receive communications. There are many different ways to communicate in our world today – let’s explore them together!! Whaddya say?
Happiness: Enhancing our happiness and the happiness of those around us.
This cycle we will explore the heart and science of happiness, what gets in the way of our happiness and what we can do to increase our happiness and the happiness of those around us. Chasing happiness is a major motivator in our modern world. People talk a lot about happiness and these are the kinds of things we hear: “I just want to feel happy,” “I’d be happy if I lost 10 lbs/made $5000 more a year,” “I left that job/marriage because it wasn’t making me happy,” “Everyone around me is stressed and unhappy,” “I can’t be happy as long as she/he is in charge,” “I would be happy if I had made a different decision in my past,” “I would be happier if X had not happened to me when I was young.” There are lots of things that seem to get in the way of us being happy, or happier. It doesn’t have to be this way! Come and join us and “get happy”!
Viva La Difference!! Men and Women in Relationship
Does the behavior of men sometimes surprise you? Do you find yourself shaking your head and wondering what universe they came from? Do you sometimes wonder why they just don’t listen and won’t do what you think is the right thing to do?
This cycle we will focus on men, women and relationships – how men and women differ and the way this affects how they are in relationships. And, we will celebrate how our differences help to complement each other’s strengths. The sessions will focus on understanding and accepting the differences between men and women, and on knowing and managing ourselves in relationship. With this knowledge and awareness we can be more successful friends, co-workers, partners, mothers, sisters, and daughters and, in doing so, live the lives we love and make the world a better place.
Money and Sex – A Window Into You In Relationship
Everything, everything, everything is a reflection of you in relationship, and this applies to your relationship with money and your relationship with sex. Often the relationship we have with money and/or sex and what we learn about ourselves in exploring these hot button topics can give us insight into our barriers to success in many different areas of our lives – our relationship with ourselves, our relationship with our significant other and our relationship with our friends and families.
This cycle-long program will give you an opportunity to explore your relationship with money and sex – your preconceptions, your issues, your barriers, your successes, your learnings and your triumphs. And, if you have a successful relationship with sex and/or money, please come and share your wisdom!
PINK
PINK is a way of being that embodies: living powerfully, authentically, and intimately. You know you are living PINK when you live by your priorities, embrace your passion, own your power, live your purpose–when you marry your head and your heart.
You are PINK. You’re good enough, you’re smart enough, and women like you.
Even if you don’t realize it at this moment, PINK is something you already know. PINK is being authentic — feeling safe and free to express yourself, laugh at yourself, and ugly cry.
This agenda series will be an opportunity to really check out your life — are you living your best life? are you living totally PINK? It is a woman’s right to live fully PINK. This will be a unique journey for each woman.
Promises
Before we did our Women’s Discovery Weekend we were introduced to Promises that the Weekend offered. During the Weekend we discovered more about ourselves as we journeyed through the Promises. We all received results at different degrees for each Promise. The discoveries and the growth never stop. This cycle we will continue to learn, deepen and strengthen each Promise. Together, each week, we will focus on one Promise. Each woman, where ever she may be in living the promises, will look at where she is and where she wants to go. This cycle we will Live the Promises together, accepting, supporting, mentoring, acknowledging, celebrating your power, appreciating the differences between men and woman, being successful, having gratitude, being generous and responsible. What better way to welcome new women to discover and live the Promises and support the success of the Weekends?
The Promises Program’s intention is to provide the opportunity to learn from each other, improve communication and collaboration between team members and relationships with others. The format offers new possibilities for better understanding of self, others and the issues at hand related to each Promise.
Risk and Reveal
Are you ready to take the risks necessary to own your greatness and to get the life and relationships you desire, really? Do you celebrate the success of each risk? Do you ask for encouragement and support so that you’re not doing it alone? Do you risk in some areas of your life and not in others? Are you ready to have the life of your dreams?
By courageously taking risks together, we will create intimate relationships and enroll others in our life and purpose. With vulnerability and trust, we will discover and reveal our true selves. We learn the tools to be successful and become accountable for our actions and decisions.
Want a Breakthrough? Take a Risk and join us this cycle!
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!
Team – “two or more people working together.” Everywhere you interact with others, you are actually acting as part of a team! This cycle we will be viewing our lives as parts of a number of teams working in alignment to achieve something together! This can apply to our marriages, our families, our jobs, our volunteering, shopping, problem solving … anywhere we interact with others. If we adopt the mindset of being a good team player, we can assess how we are doing in each area of our life. We’ll discover concrete steps we can take to move ahead as good team members, working towards a common goal and towards living the lives we love while making a difference in the world. TEAM … Together Everyone Achieves More!
